PDA works in partnership with one Indigenous Organisation in Mexico called The Bees who are working to defend Indigenous Peoples rights, empower women, promote peace and preserve cultural and biological diversity.

PDA is run by volunteers and takes a long-term approach with an emphasis on indigenous governance, capacity building and self-determination.

“I don’t believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is vertical, so it is humiliating. Goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other and learns from the other.” Eduardo Galeano

PROJECTS

PDA is currently supporting a range of project areas and has adopted a long-term strategy with all of them, which allows for a process of organisational strengthening, learning, and capacity building through the actual implementation of the projects.

Thus the projects are not an ends in themselves but part of the process of learning and the development of self determination.
